Rap VS Metal
NOTE: this post means no offense! only opinions.
what do you think 'bout rap music compared to metal music? The way they affect on you, or the way they 'guide' you? Or wanna say something else about the matter?
I personally dislike rap music a lot! Sometimes it even gives me headache (really!). So it loses 100 - 0 to metal music. Metal gives me usually really good feeling like getting drunk ;D but rap music instead steals it away.. So, what about you guys? =)

It's because you don't have the habit of rap music. It's the music that it everytime at the radio in France with R&B and Dance. I first loved it and then I grew older, I came to get interested to others styles and to search music by myself. To make my own judgement about music and don't listen because it was on the radio. Then, you may have listenned only to comercial Rap stuff on radio or at TV but there were a lot of talentuous rappers in the early 90's and in the 80's. There are good rappers now but really a few and only few of them become commercial.
If you listenned to Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio (attached file) I'm sure you could change your mind about rap music. Then, I don't know real philosophical, historical or just simply sensed lyrics in Rap music : that's why it seems to me a bit light. I like songtexts which tells stories (that's why I love Power Metal) - Attachments:

rap was good in the 80's i remember it well i started out with just pop and rap and found metal, Metal makes me feel powerful and strong like being high on a mountain with a sword in your hand and shield on you arm nothing or noone can hurt you you have the power of the gods

Personally, I would have to say I don't like rap music; metal is my life, and I can't remember what i listened in the past; of course, I respect those who like different stuff, but heavy metal makes me feel in a great battle, holding a sword.
I'm not sure if another kind of music can make you feel such a thing.... well, is just my opinion...

I'm not a fan of rap music at all (I listen to almost any other kind of music... But rap is just something I've never been able to connect to).
I will admit, there is some rap that has it's good qualities and that I don't dislike. But generally, the majority of it, is just so... lacking in quality. Musically, lyrically, vocally... In every way.
As for metal... Well, obviously I love it. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. Haha

It's logical Rap misses quality in vocal : there's no vocal in Rap ! XD
Then, lyrically, I know very eloquent French rappers and Musically, you don't need a lot of stuff to rap. It's a very minimalist kind of music, whereas Metal is really sophisticated. We can't compare.

i agree. i mean rap is cool, but it's something that i won't listen to often
metal ,on the other hand, is what i listen to ALL the time
its just better in everything rap can't compare
